 The first round of the U-16 Olympiad paired the strong versus the weak in normal Swiss System style. Overall, the favorites did what was expected, winning by crushing scores.
However a few unexpected results did occur such as Nazarov Rustem's(2024) losing against his unrated opponent Craft Isaac from England. Craft Isaac managed to turn his attack to full point which involved a piece sacrifice in the opening.
